This warm, down-to-earth family is seeking a trusted, proactive, and highly organized Nanny / Household Manager to provide long-term support as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby this April. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing household logistics, anticipating needs, and creating systems that keep a busy home running smoothly—allowing two full-time working parents to be more present with their children.
While childcare is an important component during the maternity leave period and as-needed thereafter, this position is primarily focused on household management and family support. Long-term, childcare will function as backup and supplemental support (particularly during school closures, sick days, or transitions), while the core of the role centers on organization, coordination, and day-to-day household operations. The right candidate will become a steady, trusted presence who brings structure, foresight, and ease to the family’s daily life.
Responsibilities:
Childcare (20%):
Provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate care for the 4-year-old and newborn as needed
Offer increased childcare support during maternity leave and transition periods
Step in for childcare during school/daycare closures or sick days
Engage the older child in creative, enriching, age-appropriate activities when supporting childcare
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
Maintain tidy and organized children’s spaces, including rooms and play areas
Household Manager Support (80%):
Oversee daily household operations, including laundry, dishes, tidying, restocking supplies, errands, and returns
Manage family logistics, calendars, schedules, and appointments, anticipating needs and filling gaps proactively
Coordinate household vendors and service providers (cleaners, maintenance, contractors, dog walker) and support larger projects such as home organization or renovations
Plan weekly menus, grocery shop, and prepare meals, including occasional simple family meals
Create and maintain organizational systems to ensure the household runs efficiently
Provide light care and daily attention for the family’s friendly Golden Retriever, including feeding and coordination with the walker
Occasionally travel with the family, as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Professional Nanny experience with newborns, infants, and toddlers
- Minimum 3 years of Professional House Manager or Family Assistant experience
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
- Comfortable with newborn care
- Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, independent, and able to anticipate household and childcare needs.
- CPR & First Aid Certified.
- Up-to-date vaccinations: COVID, flu, Tdap, MMR; recent negative TB test (within 2 years).
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
