Job Title: Physical Education/Wellness Teacher
Reports to: Director of Wellness and Principal

FSLA Status: Per diem rate of pay
Salary Range: $192.50 per day, non-benefited
JOB GOAL:
The Wellness Teacher fosters a love of learning and movement that encourages student curiosity, engagement, and growth in a welcoming community of learners. The teacher provides learning experiences that engage students in all aspects of physical education and social-emotional learning guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, National P.E. Standards, district standards and requirements.
QUALIFICIATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field

Professional Certification:
-
MA DESE license in Physical education K-8
-
Additional certification in special education and/or ESL and/or health education highly desirable.

Specialized Knowledge: child development, curriculum frameworks, growth mindset, inclusive practices, cultural proficiency, anti-bias instruction, social-emotional learning

CORI and Fingerprinting: All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
Preferred Experience:

Experience teaching English Language Learners in a diverse setting.

Experience teaching students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Wellness Teacher does not have supervisory responsibilities for other staff, except to direct any paraeducators who may be assigned to his/her/their classroom.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary, benefits, and responsibilities per contract between the Westborough School Committee and the Westborough Education Association.
