Low Voltage (LV) Automation Engineer

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Responsibilities:

- System design: Develop detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications for low-voltage automation systems. This includes creating single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement (GA) layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOM).

- PLC programming and logic development: Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and design Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens to automate industrial machinery, HVAC systems, and other processes.

- System integration: Ensure that low-voltage systems—such as building management systems (BMS), security (CCTV, access control), and network infrastructure—are effectively integrated to work seamlessly together.

- Installation and commissioning support: Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of a project to ensure proper implementation and system functionality.

- Troubleshooting and maintenance: Diagnose system failures, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems.

Qualifications:

- Education: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

- Experience: Proven experience in designing, installing, and/or commissioning low-voltage and automation systems is essential.

Technical expertise:

- Shall have experience in Siemens SICAM A8000 range of RTU

- Experience in communication protocols (Modbus (RS485/TCP), profinet, IEC61850, IEC104).

- Strong knowledge of low-voltage components, panels, switchgear, and control systems.

- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming and configuration (e.g., using protocols like BACnet or Modbus).

- Familiarity with Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems like CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and network cabling.

- Experience with electrical design software like AutoCAD.
