LPN (6+) - Shift 1

Job Purpose:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. The role requires a compassionate and dedicated professional who can effectively support the medical and emotional needs of patients in a behavioral health setting. This position is for Shift 1 and requires a minimum of 6 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor patient health by assessing vital signs and observing for any changes in condition.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Assist in emergency situations by providing appropriate nursing interventions.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in nursing care.
Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.

Required Education:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
Proven experience in administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Experience in maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of nursing care procedures, including patient assessment and care planning.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
Proficiency in using healthcare software and electronic medical records systems.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and make critical decisions in a timely manner.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality patient care.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a focus on promoting mental health and wellness.
