RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Train Operation
- Operate LRT trains on the main line and within depot boundaries in accordance with operational procedures.
- Execute stabling and unstabling procedures for trains at designated locations.
- Monitor train performance and ensure full compliance with onboard and wayside signaling systems.
Safety and Compliance
- Prioritize the safety of passengers and operations under normal, degraded, and emergency conditions.
- Conduct pre-service safety inspections of the train before commencing operations.
- Follow all safety protocols, operational rules, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Wear full uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) during duty hours.
Communication and Coordination
- Notify the Traffic Controller of any operational incidents, abnormalities, or safety hazards.
- Report to the assigned Transport Supervisor at the start of the shift and inform of any delays or unforeseen absences.
- Receive and acknowledge operational updates and service-related information at the beginning of each shift.
- Coordinate with OCC or Depot Train Controllers regarding timetable adherence, degraded modes, or operational changes.
Service Continuity and Degraded Operations
- Respond appropriately to train failures and degraded operating conditions to maintain service continuity.
- Execute degraded mode operations in strict accordance with instructions and safety guidelines provided by the Traffic Controller.
Customer Service and Station Interaction
- Monitor passenger exchange at stations to ensure safe boarding and alighting.
- Ensure adherence to scheduled departure times and turnback procedures at terminal stations.
General Duties
- Maintain professionalism and uphold the image of the LRT service.
- Fulfill any additional duties and tasks as assigned by the operations team.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical education in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or communications engineering.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Solid understanding of technical terminology relevant to industrial or transport systems.
- Strong awareness of public safety principles and procedures.
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
EXPERIENCE:
- 0 - 3 years of experience in a technical field.
- Previous experience in the railway industry is an advantage.
