Department of Corrections is currently seeking highly qualified candidates to fill an
LTGF Administrative Aide 1G position, grade
G13 in the
Director's Office/ Employee Support Division.
This is a part-time temporary Limited Term Grant Funded (LTGF) position without benefits.

About the Position
This is a part-time limited-term grant-funded position that provides essential administrative support in implementing the BJA CRIT grant by assisting with administrative tasks, managing schedules, organizing training materials, maintaining the e-learning platform, and coordinating training sessions.The incumbent in this position will be responsible for coordinating and managing office activities while handling highly sensitive, confidential, and clerical materials. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Grant Project Manager which includes managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining files. Additionally, the incumbent will draft letters and memoranda, create forms, and carry out other related duties as needed. Furthermore, the incumbent will manage participants, registrations, track attendance, and handle course evaluations. Lastly, administrative tasks in support of the grant include maintaining accurate paper and electronic copies of training schedules, participant data, and training materials.
About the Agency
The Prince George's County Department of Corrections provides a safe, secure and humane environment for pre-trial and sentenced offenders. We also provide rehabilitative programs to inmates such as education, juvenile services, religious services, domestic violence, barber styling school, nail technician, women's empowerment, substance abuse drug treatment, and community re-entry.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications listed below to be eligible for additional consideration:

High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with coursework in typing, office practices, or other related clerical subjects

One (1) year of advanced diverse and/or technical clerical experience which must have involved working with the public for at least six (6) months.

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
Public safety work experience
Instructor work experience
Knowledge and versatile ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online examination to demonstrate proficiency in administrative duties and computer software programs. Applicants must pass the online proficiency examination in order to be considered for this position.

Meet minimum qualifications and must pass an administered Administrative Aide exam. Applicants who have previously taken the exam on or after 8/1/2024, and passed, will not be required to re-test; instead, previous test scores will be used to receive the passing disposition.

Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings.

Pass subsequent random drug screens.

Be willing to submit to annual TB testing.

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

Be able to work remotely, if requested, and maintain secure online/wi-fi access.

Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.

Be willing to be essential. The incumbent selected for this position must be willing to stay or report to work during a man-made crisis or inclement weather when other county employees have been granted administrative leave.
