Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize lubricant formulations (engine oils, gear oils, greases, hydraulic fluids, etc.) based on performance requirements and market trends.
  • Conduct laboratory testing following ASTM, ISO, and OEM specifications.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process blends, and finished products.
  • Interpret and troubleshoot results, including wear, oxidation, viscosity, and tribology testing.
  • Collaborate with R&D and quality teams to ensure consistent product performance and process improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on additive technologies, regulatory requirements and industry developments.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and support product certifications and customer technical inquiries.
  • Assist in pilot runs and plant trials for new formulations or improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and laboratory best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lubricant formulation or testing role.
  • Proficiency with ASTM/ISO lubricant test methods (e.g., D445, D97, D92, D2896, etc.).
  • Experience with analytical instruments (FTIR, ICP, GC, viscometers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with lubricant additive packages, base oil compatibility, and formulation software/tools is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork abilities.
