Toyo Tires of North America is looking to fill the role of Lubrication Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing machinery lubrication routes and inspections, ensuring the proper disposal of machinery oils, and actively participating in maintaining equipment efficiency. The Lubrication Technician will play a crucial role in minimizing wear and tear on machinery, contributing to overall operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Execute Machinery Lubrication Routes and Inspections:
o Follow established lubrication routes and conduct regular inspections on machinery.
o Identify and address lubrication needs to optimize machinery performance.
- Change and Properly Dispose of Machinery Oils:
o Perform oil changes on gearboxes and other machinery components.
o Ensure proper disposal methods are adhered to in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Repair Oil Leaks and Clean Machinery:
o Address oil leaks promptly and efficiently.
o Clean machinery as needed to prevent contamination and maintain optimal functionality.
- Assist in Developing Machinery Lubrication Guidelines:
o Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop lubrication guidelines for new and existing equipment.
o Ensure adherence to established guidelines for effective machinery maintenance.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Oil and Grease Storage System:
o Organize and manage the oil and grease storage system.
o Keep the storage area clean and ensure proper labeling of lubricants.
- Change Oil Filters and Perform Maintenance Tasks:
o Replace oil filters as needed or as part of routine maintenance.
o Assist the Preventive Maintenance (PM) crew with assigned tasks as necessary.
- Collect Oil Samples and Submit to Lab:
o Collect oil samples for analysis as required or on a routine basis.
o Submit samples to the laboratory for comprehensive testing.
- Submit Work Orders and Documentation:
o Enter work orders into the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling (MP2) system for any improvements or repairs.
o Maintain accurate documentation of lubrication activities and repairs.
- Complete Assigned Lubrication Training Courses:
o Participate in and successfully complete assigned lubrication training courses.
o Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Lubrication Technician or similar role.
- Knowledge of machinery lubrication practices and principles.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Any accredited Machine lubrication certification would be a plus but is not required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
