The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) performs duties under direction of a clinical supervisor (RN/Physician/APRN) and works administratively under the Director of Nursing, to assist in examination and treatment of individuals served in the designated Mental Health Centers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Participation in and assisting the physicians during doctor’s clinic, providing professional, complex treatment and rehabilitation. Provides required laboratory monitoring and medication education classes for consumers. Administers medications, immunizations, draws blood, provides treatments, and observes patients for unusual symptoms and reactions. Provides professional nursing expertise to center staff as needed. Travel will be required. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care throughout the agency, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment for all individuals served and staff. Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from accredited school for Licensed Vocational Nurses. Licensed to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years’ experience working in a hospital or healthcare agency with individuals with mental illness. Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance. Must pass and maintain all Center-mandated trainings.
