SERAPID specializes in custom machine design and manufacturing. We focus on linear motion for many industries including Theatre, Nuclear, Military and Quick Die Change.
We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, assembly, and the operation of various industrial equipment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. As a Builder, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble Electromechanical systems by installing various premanufactured parts and related components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, or any other equipment necessary
- Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications
- Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specification manuals and plan assembly or building operations
- Prepare finished products for shipping including building pallets/crates, and properly securing and wrapping items
- Travel to project sites when necessary to evaluate/repair SERAPID equipment (typically less than 10%)
- Follow all SERAPID practices and policies regarding manufacturing and quality
- Ensure shop and other work areas are clean and free from hazards
- Enter redlines in job book when they are discovered
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with problem definition, analysis and solution development
- Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies
- Perform maintenance on company equipment such as compressor, lathe, mills, band saw, spray booth, or the building
- Assist with loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing trucks
- Communicate part/build issues with engineering, project management, quality and procurement
- Ensure jobs are checked by quality department and pictures are taken prior to packaging for shipment
- Complete inventory counts as needed to ensure proper stock levels
- Maintenance of inventory stock – informing Manufacturing Manager when stock is low
- Perform testing and buyoffs as required

- Crane/rigging equipment
- Machinery – lathe, saw, bandsaw, mill, drill press
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of standard mechanical engineering industry practices
- Good working knowledge of basic machining methods such as milling, drilling, tapping, turning, etc.
- Welding experience a plus
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitudes
- Good decision making, problem solving, and team member skills
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Provide personal hand tools for assembly operation
