Insight Global is seeking a Machine Learning Research Intern to support a cutting-edge automotive technology client. This individual will focus on developing AI-driven world models for connected and automated driving applications. The ideal candidate has a strong research background in machine learning and is passionate about advancing AI in simulation and real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and evaluate AI-based world models for connected and autonomous driving systems

Research and implement generative and latent-space modeling approaches (e.g., diffusion models, VAEs)

Conduct experiments using simulation platforms and/or real-world driving datasets

Analyze results and present findings through technical documentation and presentations

Collaborate with cross-functional research and engineering teams
Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML

Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning concepts

Experience with simulation tools (e.g., CARLA or similar platforms)

Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)

Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written and verbal formats

Pay rate:

PhD candidates: $57.20/hour
-
Master’s candidates: $45.10/hour
-
$2,000 one-time relocation stipend available for candidates relocating more than 50 miles
