Machinist

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure that parts meet strict specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise machined parts.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
• Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for various machining tasks.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling power tools, hand tools, and other machinery.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining processes for efficiency and waste reduction.
• Assist in assembly operations when required, ensuring parts are correctly fitted and finished according to specifications.

Experience

• Skilled in reading complex blueprints and applying GD&T principles accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, and plastics injection molding processes.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
