THE ROLE

Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings using a range of machining methods, with a strong focus on horizontal boring

Operate and set machinery to produce high-quality parts for both in-house assemblies and global customer supply

Work to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency

Ensure all work meets required quality standards and aligns with company procedures and British Standards

Interpret and work confidently with both metric and imperial measurements

Contribute to a flexible workshop environment handling a wide variety of components and materials

Collaborate closely with a small, skilled team to achieve production targets and maintain workflow efficiency

Support continuous improvement and take part in team-based or cross-functional activities
THE PERSON
-
Time-served machinist with solid, hands-on experience in a machine shop environment

Proven experience working with a variety of materials
-
Strong background in horizontal boring; experience with Fagor controls is advantageous
-
CNC machining knowledge or experience would be beneficial
-
Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings accurately
-
Committed to producing work to a high standard with strong attention to detail
-
Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload effectively to meet deadlines
-
Team-oriented with a proactive and flexible approach to work
