Scope of the Role:
As part of a multi-functional, highly skilled, and flexible team, the Machine Shop Grinder is
a hands-on role, responsible for producing parts to a fulfil Assembly, Aftermarket and Spares requirements. Shift flexibility is vital to fulfil business needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Be highly involved in contributing to the entire manufacturing process, from engineering design, through machining to delivery.

Producing complex components according to specification requirements.

Working from and understanding engineering drawings
-
Working and measuring to very tight tolerances.
- Applying knowledge of materials and machining methods.
-
Work with minimal supervision and plan workload effectively to achieve targets and KPIs.
-
Experience working on bespoke parts to stringent geometric tolerances.

Understand, and work at all times, in line with Fives Values and Directives; specifically
following the highest standards of health and safety.

Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.

Foster RFT mindset.
Technical Competencies Required:
-
Operating CNC cylindrical Studer machines. External/ Internal Grinding.
-
Proving out on CNC cylindrical Studer machines. External/ Internal Grinding.
-
Programming (Studer Win), Setting- components, grinding wheels, jigs, fixtures, chucks and working between centres
-
Working and measuring to very tight tolerances (within 5 Micron range).

Ability to use metrology equipment

Interpretation of engineering drawings,
-
Manufacturing components to achieve critical geometrical tolerancing and ensuring product conformity

4yr. Time served apprenticeship certification
