Machinist / Senior Machinist - Electric Motor Rewinding & Overhaul (LV/HV)

Basic Function and Scope :

To perform their daily tasks, conventional machinists use machine tools to manufacture various mechanical parts. They use machines such as milling machines, drill presses and CNC lathes.

It is important for a machinist to understand the drawings and specifications of the parts being produced. They must regularly verify, using precision measuring instruments, that the dimensions of the parts they are machining are accurate and in accordance with any client requests.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Operates and maintains, upkeeps by monitoring and replenishing coolant and lubricant etc of the lathe, milling, drilling and shaping machines.

• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. Record all data from the activities, equipment’s during service and immediately provide inputs to Supervisors concerned to prepare reports.

• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task. Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.

• Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.

• Maintains inventory of completed products.

• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.

• Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.

• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

• Complete required paper works for each job accurately and on a timely basis.

• Assist other technician or personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by workshop supervisor.

• Keep area neat and clean for every end of the day/duty.

• Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.

• Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gears.

• Must follow strict safety procedures & must wear protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and helmets, and follow all relevant safety guidelines and regulations.

HSE Compliances :

• Comply with OHSE Manual, guidelines, specific procedures, plans, and programs along with VGE – HSE guidelines.

• Report unsafe acts / unsafe conditions. Stop any work if found unsafe.

• Wear mandatory and / or specific PPE required for the job.

Qualification, Experience & Skills :

• High school Diploma / ITI or equivalent in Machinist, Fitter, Turner or Mechanical Trades / Engineering.

• 3-5 years in reputed Machine shop or industry including knowledge of repairs and overhauls as hands on experience.

• Must know to read and interpret mechanical drawings & systems, including knowledge of machine tools and formatting of threads, shapes and designs. wiring diagrams,

• Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to work with precision and accuracy, particularly when rewinding coils.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and supervisors to discuss motor problems, repair plan, and testing results.

Pay: Up to QAR3,000.00 per month
