Delta Waterfowl is The Duck Hunters Organization, a leading conservation group founded in 1911. We work to produce ducks through intensive management programs and conservation of breeding duck habitat. Delta conducts vital waterfowl research and promotes and protects the continuing tradition of waterfowl hunting in North America.

Delta’s international headquarters is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. Currently, our dedicated team consists of almost 100 employees, of which about half work within our headquarters office and the other half work remotely throughout the US and Canada. Our organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, and this is expected to continue. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Magazine Editor/Communications Writer manages all facets of Delta’s membership magazine, ensuring each issue reflects the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This position leads the editorial process from concept to publication, curating compelling, high-value content that connects readers with Delta’s programs, people, and conservation impact. In addition to managing the magazine, the editor develops engaging written content for Delta’s various platforms to strengthen brand voice and member engagement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field and at least three years of professional experience required.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
4. Organized with attention to detail.
5. Superior ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external publications.
6. Ability to offer sound media relations advice to senior leadership.
7. Excellent managerial and organizational abilities.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work with corporate management, employees, media, and the larger community.
10. Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams in order to present a coherent message.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and listen. The position requires dexterity in using telephone, computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and other office equipment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and navigate stairs. The employee must lift and move up to 40 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment well as in the field (e.g., marsh, water, woods, etc.).
