Role Summary
The Program Manager position at Magna Engineered Glass leads the Product Delivery Process (PDP) for new product launch and supports existing production products for all Customer facing programs utilizing varied Leadership tools and skills, by coordinating and working closely with multiple Departments within a diverse Matrix Environment.
Job Purpose:
Ensure the requirements of the Customer Statement of Work (SOW) and Program Award are accomplished through a collaborative approach in managing activities of pre-defined resources in a Matrix Environment of multiple Departments, utilizing standard tools and processes.

Job Qualifications:
Education (must): Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Engineering Curriculum or Technical Field
Years of Experience (must): 4 – 9 Years
Microsoft Tools (must): Proven Skills in Project, EXCEL, Power Point, Word, etc.
Travel (must): Ability to travel up to 25 %, during peak launch cycle.
Work Environment (must): Be willing and physically capable of working in the manufacturing environment, “on the floor’ for extended periods as necessary, supporting the Pre and Postproduction Build and Launch Activities. Must also be willing to do the same at the Customers location if requested. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Initiation:
1.) Collaborate with the Sales team to assess new product or service feasibility using available data, past program insights, and stakeholder input within defined constraints.
2.) Define program deliverables by documenting customer requirements, constraints, risks, and assumptions with stakeholders using techniques like historical data and brainstorming.
3.) Develop communication plan; identify key program team members by defining roles and responsibilities to create a program organization structure to develop the communication plan.
Planning:
1.) Develop the varied key process element “plans” utilizing the Product Delivery Process (PDP) and traX, including but not limited to: Scope, Cost, Schedule, Human Resources, Communication, Procurement, Quality, Change Management, Safety and Risk. Focus on engagement and gain input from all functional department leaders during this process.
2.) Define and track detailed plans in a program schedule, allocating necessary resources. Agree on schedule content and commitments to set milestone dates. Obtain Leadership approval for baseline milestones before proceeding. Any changes to baseline dates require a documented and approved Scope Change agreement.
3.) Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders to announce the start of the program and review the overall program plan and gain consensus.
4.) Develop a stakeholder management plan to communicate overall program status throughout the life cycle.
Execution:
1.) Acquire and manage program resources to execute the program plan.
2.) Manage task execution as defined in the program plan to achieve the program goals.
3.) Implement the approved changes and corrective actions required by following the change management plan to meet or exceed program requirements.
4.) Following the risk management plan, implement approved actions to minimize risk and take advantage of opportunities to decrease overall cost (risk and or management reserve impact, if defined).
5.) Supports team building by generating mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members.
6.) Develop program team and improves team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure program efficiency, and boost morale.
7.) Work with and through the Pre-Production Launch Coordinators (PLC) to execute the following key program deliverables. The Program Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the completion of all these tasks but provides leadership and tactical direction to the PLC to assure these elements get completed.
a.) Bill of Material Release and Tracking for Pre-Production Customer and internal Testing / Trial events.
b.) Component Ordering of requirements for pre-production build events.
c.) Component Material Requirement Date (MRD) tracking with support from Supplier Purchasing and direct contact with the Supplier if necessary.
d.) Receival of components, proper storage and revision control within the Engineering Crib or other designated areas.
e.) Lead the build event plan and execution for tooling / equipment trials and Customer Deliverables.
f.) Work within the Quality Systems to assure “Safe Launch” and any additional Customer requirements are met prior to shipping.
h.) Develop, communicate and coordinate advanced planning for upcoming builds “well in advance” of the event with all effected supporting departments (ie. Mfg., Quality, Packaging, Materials, Shipping. Etc.)
i.) Coordinate and execute the overall transfer of responsibility from the Pre-Production to Production.
Monitoring & Controlling:
1.) Responsible for and management of overall program deliverables to Baseline Timing commitments, financial measures, performance measures and various Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Supports the creation of Change Requests (CR) and Change Notices (CN) within the Magna Change X tool. Uses best practices to track all open CR/CN’s to resolution in the quickest possible turnaround time.
3.) Measure program performance using the PDP TraX New Program Launch System. Along with other appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the program, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
4.) Capture, analyze and manage lessons learned to enable continuous improvement.
5.) Monitor procurement and manufacturing activities to verify compliance with program deliverables, focusing on “on time” execution to the quality standards and management plan.
6.) Clearly and professionally communicates program issues to the Leadership Team for escalation and resolution.
Closure:
1.) Assure completion of all required launch process deliverables.
2.) Gain final acceptance from relevant stakeholders, confirming and assuring that program scope and deliverables were achieved.
3.) Conduct a comprehensive final lesson learned event and transfer this information to the Magna knowledge base for all teams to reference.
4.) Coordinate with Manufacturing team to train and transfer product to Plant control.
5.) Archive program documents and materials for future reference and audit.
