Location: Operations Center, Harrisburg, PA

Summary:
Performs a wide variety of mailroom tasks that support Belco in its entirety. Functions as a courier to all Belco branches and runs errands as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Daily operation of mailroom equipment including postage meters, scanners, mail sealers, envelope openers, fold and insert machines, labeleing machines and copy machines.
  • Prepare daily outgoing mail for distribution to USPS, UPS, Capitol Presort, etc.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Oversee postal permits and renewals.
  • Respond to requests for materials or assistance received from the branches and departments.
  • Order supplies for the postage machine and ensure that correct postage rates are used.
  • Work with vendors for mailroom machines if there is a problem or malfunction.
  • Make daily deliveries to Belco branches per the courier schedule
  • Run errands to businesses and vendors as requested.
  • Ensure that the company car is fueled, undergoes routine maintenance and has a current inspection.
  • Perform other tasks as requested, e.g. set up tables and chairs, assist Marketing with special projects, etc.
  • Enter data on a computer and communicate via email as necessary.
  • Complete required online credit union compliance training.
  • Readily participate and contribute in a team effort for greater productivity and efficiency.
  • Abide by Belco’s Policies, procedures and standards; and embody Belco’s Mission, Vision and Core Values.
  • Other duties as required by the Corporate Support Manager and/or the VP of Corporate Support.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a mailroom and on the road. In house, the role routinely uses a letter folding machine and a postage machine, as well as standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, fax machine and photocopier. On the road, the Belco car or van is used for travel.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active role, requiring the ability to stand, bend, stoop and to move around a large part of the day. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Hand dexterity is needed for keyboarding. Must be able to operate mailroom machines as well as general office equipment, such as copier, fax machine, scanner, phone, label maker, hole puncher, and stapler.

Travel:
This position requires up to 70% travel within Belco’s field of membership.

Minimum
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Six months of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Computer proficiency required with familiarity of Microsoft Office suite of products.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and license must be in good standing.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Prior shipping and receiving experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Organizational and time management skills, strong interpersonal skills, professional phone etiquette, and attention to detail. Ability to interface with different business levels and disciplines as necessary. General background in the use of office software & machines including PC and keyboard knowledge.
