This role focuses on helping students develop a foundational understanding of physical principles and apply those concepts through guided problem-solving, conceptual explanation, and peer-supported learning.________________________________________Schedule Requirements• Availability between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.• 10–20 hours per week• Combination of daytime and at least one evening shift preferred• Opportunities for both in-person and online tutoring

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Examples Of Essential Duties: What You’ll Do - Create a welcoming and encouraging space for students to thrive academically. - Break down complex topics using clear, engaging teaching methods. - Collaborate with faculty and team members to continuously improve the learning experience. - Offer constructive feedback to help students overcome challenges and build confidence.Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in Introduction to PhysicsAssist students in understanding: Basic kinematics and motionForces and Newton’s lawsEnergy, work, and powerMomentum and basic mechanics conceptsGuide students through problem-solving and quantitative reasoningHelp students connect mathematical relationships to physical conceptsEncourage active learning through questioning, explanation, and guided practiceFacilitate tutoring sessions both in person and via Zoom or similar platformsUse technology tools (screen sharing, digital whiteboards, etc.) to support learningMaintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions as requiredContribute to a supportive, welcoming learning environment

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Students with a faculty referral letter are strongly encouraged to include it with their application. Tutors may also be considered for assignment to support specific course sections based on faculty recommendations and scheduling needs.
