Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

  • Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects
  • Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning
  • Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments
  • Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals
  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
  • Contribute to software development projects by writing, testing, and debugging code, under the guidance of senior team members
  • Collaborate with the team to meet project objectives, actively participating in code reviews and design discussions
  • Assist in the documentation of software requirements and specifications, striving for clear and effective communication
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, seeking guidance and mentorship
  • Learn and adapt to software development practices and methodologies, actively participating in training programs
  • Contribute to the implementation of best practices and emerging technologies
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance your understanding of software architecture and design
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and learning environment

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) is required
  • 1-2 years of relevant Mainframe application developer experience is mandatory
  • Oracle Documaker experience in the insurance industry will be preferred
  • Proficiency in 1 or more software programming languages: CICS and/or Cobol are required
  • Development methodologies: Waterfall and/or Agile are required
  • Coding and debugging skills are required
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Strong problem-solving mindset
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the field
  • Good technical and analytical skill
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Time management and multitasking ability
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

Preferred Diplomas / Studies/ Certifications:

  • Any exposure or certification in Life and Annuity Insurance domain will be preferred
  • LOMA is preferred
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure or other Cloud technologies

Work Environment:

  • All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Our address is: 6901 Windcrest Dr, D2-1E-76, Plano, TX 75024. This position is hybrid and may require 2 days commute to our office. Candidates must live within a 20-25 miles commutable distance
  • Our operational hours are 7:30 am to 10pm. ET Monday – Friday.
