The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Must have the ability to think independently while functioning in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

- Repair, replace, adjust, align, inspect, operate, test and reassemble defective or malfunctioning equipment using hand or power tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspect drives, motors and belts to ensure that equipment / systems are operational.
- Connect power unit to machines or thermal oil piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operations.
- Repair, replace and/or adjust wear parts.
- Fabricate, assemble and install equipment or miscellaneous parts, using hand tools, power tools or welder.
- Inserts shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
- Move machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers and industrial trucks.
- Perform general building, construction and plumbing maintenance and repair work as assigned.
- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical, plumbing, machinery and equipment per Work Orders in a timely manner as assigned.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Returning tools to assigned area. Replacing all guards and safety items when work is complete.
- Fill in and or assist with training for production and or other maintenance personnel on machine operations and/or adjustments as directed by Supervisor and/or Management.
- Complete Purchase Requisitions for new parts, replacement parts, shutdown items, PM items and turn in to Supervisor for approval.
- Complete and turn in daily maintenance logs.
- Document in log books for changes that may affect the process.
- Complete the spare parts inventory checkout procedure.
- Know and adhere to all Policy and Procedures - Hot Works, Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out, and any Safety Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Keep supervisor informed of any significant problems or opportunities related to work activity.
