MAINTENANCE JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs overall maintenance for Jack’s Companies locations. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain equipment (i.e. chainsaw, weed trimmers, mower, truck, trailer, leaf blower, power sweep, gas cans, sprayer, spreader)

Documentation and performing maintenance/repair to petroleum based equipment

Inspection and documentation
-
Preventative maintenance on fitters, hoses, nozzles, and breakaways
-
Maintenance/repair car wash equipment
-
Visual inspection
-
Perform preventative maintenance
-
Clean car wash bays – including pressure wash
-
Salt and chemicals-monitoring for proper use
-
Organize utility rooms in all locations
-
Order supplies when needed
-
Organize and maintain service work area
-
Organize and maintain service truck
-
Assist with maintenance of HVAC equipment at all locations
-
Coordinate outside repairs with all vendors
-
Assist Store Managers with various jobs
-
Ability to recognize the need for general maintenance/repairs for all Jack’s Companies buildings (Convenience Stores, Office, Repair Facilities, Storage Sheds, and homes)

Assist management with overseeing large projects. For example, raise/rebuild of buildings, dispensers, car wash, etc.

Assist with other service work as needed. This could include painting, deep cleaning, and repairs to equipment.

Sign maintenance.

Driving company vehicles (i.e. pick-up truck and/or 1 ton trucks) with trailers attached transporting equipment from site to site

Keeping shrubs and trees trimmed when necessary
-
Operating lawn mowers, skid steers, forklift, and aerial lifts needed to perform job duties
-
Attending to flower beds and other ornamental features
-
Maintaining equipment in a clean and operational manner
-
Painting and washing propane tanks
-
Perform lawn care for Jack’s Companies properties
- Additional activities may include building wooden structures/additions and large tree trimming and removal
-
In the winter months performing snow removal and ice scraping in a safe and effective manner
- Sanding and salting properties during inclement winter weather
-
Maintaining the exteriors of our buildings by: sweeping, pressure washing, garbage removal, painting, and wash dispenser upkeep

Travelling and acclimating to all types of seasons, whether night or day
-
Driving carefully in bad weather circumstances and managing truck safely out of crowded places
-
During busy fuel season assisting in the delivery of petroleum products to customer locations in a safe and timely manner
-
Understand and accurately complete invoice paperwork
-
Complete daily truck inspections

Observes work carefully in order to anticipate problems early and adopts safety measures
-
Oversees the safety aspects of work environment and makes sure they are upheld and renewed accordingly

Agrees to the protection rules and policies in transporting, handling, and supplying procedures and methods of petroleum products

Keep vehicle in organized and clean state at all times

Keep written accounts of the work done every day
- Deliver exceptional customer service and present oneself in a professional manner

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Comfortable with working alone and does not require constant supervision

Excellent attention to detail-able to observe and act on any issues presented

Proficient verbal and written communication skills including legible hand written documents

Capable of lifting (75 lbs.), pulling, and climbing in and out of a truck several times a day

Able to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions

Ability to work a schedule that may require some holiday and weekend shifts

Works well with others

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random screening thereafter
-
Ability to operate a variety of equipment (ie. zero turn, skid loader, scissor lift, mini backhoe, mini dump truck, one ton pick-up, portable air compressor, and portable pressure washer)

Ability to create schedule with weather conditions and maintenance needs
-
Preferred Class A CDL with HazMat endorsements
