Maintenance Aide

Overview
The purpose of this position is to assist personnel and supervisors in the maintenance and upkeep of apartment and office buildings. This is accomplished by processing and completing repair orders, cleaning building interiors, reporting and conducting minor repairs to buildings, and ensuring buildings are clean.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine facilities maintenance including plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and carpentry to uphold property standards
• Support the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and tools such as ohmmeters
• Conduct inspections of electrical panels, mechanical equipment, and facility structures to identify issues early
• Assist in residential painting projects to enhance property aesthetics and maintain visual appeal
• Ensure apartment units are cleaned and maintained by conducting duties to ensure apartments are ready for move-in.
• Performs floor cleaning and repair duties by stripping and waxing the floors of the apartment and office building interiors and exteriors are free of trash and debris, cleaning trash chutes, and conducting special projects as required.

Experience

• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or a related field such as manufacturing or residential building upkeep is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with welding, electrical work, or mechanical repairs is highly desirable
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, including the use of tools like ohmmeters for testing circuits
• Strong communication skills to effectively follow instructions and document work accurately

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
