MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL)

The Maintenance Aide reporting location is at Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, 7800 Cienega Rd. Hollister CA 95023. This position works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and reports to the Senior Maintenance Aide and/or Park Maintenance Worker I as leads.
The normal reporting location of this position is the Maintenance Office located at Hollister Hills SVRA. This Maintenance Aide Position performs maintenance services functions at Hollister Hills SVRA as assigned. Primary duties include participating in housekeeping activities, garbage and trash collection, litter pick up, equipment maintenance, grounds maintenance, and assisting permanent staff with maintenance of facilities, roads and grounds. This is a uniformed classification and is required to maintain an appearance conforming to the Department standards.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions
Work Environment:
Work outdoors in various types of weather; work in unpleasant conditions (e.g., Rainy/hot weather).
Work in hazardous situations (e.g., chemicals). Works at elevated heights or near fast moving machinery, off highway vehicles, or traffic.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to perform manual labor (e.g. digging, trenching, lifting, carrying, loading).
Requires repetitive movement of heavy objects.
Ability to walk across uneven terrain in both uphill and downhill conditions to perform the duties associated with the job.
Stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) to perform the duties associated with the job
Cognitive Abilities:
Follow directions.
Perform basic mathematical computations associated with assigned duties.
Make sound decisions given available information and situational parameters.
Skill to utilize measurements (e.g., tsp, tbsp, quart) to measure, mix and apply various chemical solutions
