Maintenance and Repair Technician – Dredge Department

The Barnstable County Dredge Department is accepting applications for the full-time position of a Maintenance & Repair Tech. This is the ultimate ‘MacGyver’ job.

High school education and proven experience with diesel, gas and outboard engines, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, marine electrical systems and welding.

Work includes the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment used by the department. From changing oil to replacing fittings to managing spare parts to name just a few of the job responsibilities.

Requirements include:

• A valid Driver’s License, and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• The ability to acquire a hydraulic license (Class 2A) within first year of employment.
• Must be able to travel to each project site using department vehicles on Cape Cod.
• Must be able to work Saturdays as needed (with overtime during the dredge season – September through May).
• Must be able to tolerate conditions on the water, vibrations, heat, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
