Maintenance Apprentice

SUMMARY:

Maintain facilities, machinery and equipment to ensure OEM quality and operational excellence.

• Equipment includes Corrugator, Hogger, Baler
• Facilities include building, lights, ceilings, plumbing, painting, concrete repair, doors, minor HVAC and carpentry.
• Assist in the repair of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, facilities and production machines including assisting other Techs and lubrication.
• Assist in locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Assist in maintaining the shop, parts room and other Maintenance Department areas.
• Provides maintenance information by using CMMS.
• Improves technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Exhibit RockTenn Culture in all facets of the job.

Skills/Qualifications: Basic Safety, Equipment Maintenance, Initiative and Zeal, Power Tools, Attention to detail, Flexibility.

High School Diploma or GED

6 months - 1yr+ experience maintenance or apprentice

will consider candidates with applicable school/certifications

Must be able to perform heavy lifting

Must be able to sit / stand for extended periods of time

Must have finger dexterity for typing and keyboard use

Overtime maybe required.

Consistent and regular attendance required.
