Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified applicant to join our team as a Maintenance Assistant. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our senior residents by ensuring a safe, functional, and comfortable living environment, we would love to speak with you. In this role, you will assist the Maintenance Director with general building maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

As a proactive and energetic maintenance assistant with a basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, you'll be a valuable member of our team, ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and functioning smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems (replace light bulbs, sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
• Assist with the setup and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, and other building systems as needed
• Maintain and repair heating and plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality
• Perform manual repairs such as fixing locks and other necessary tasks
• Complete work order requests for apartment repairs and general building upkeep
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and other miscellaneous repairs
• Provide excellent customer service and assistance to senior residents

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
• Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Proficient with tools, appliances, and devices commonly used in building maintenance
• Strong manual dexterity, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed
• Ability to work independently and handle tasks efficiently
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.50 - $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
