Maintenance Assistant

Maintenance Assistant – Full-Time
Location: Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehab – Millersburg, PA

Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehab is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This position performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and light cleaning duties to ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained for our residents and staff.

Position Details

• Shift: Full-Time

• May include scheduled on-call responsibilities, weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, windows, and other structures

• Remove trash and maintain organized work areas

• Move furniture as needed to complete assignments

• Coordinate maintenance services with Nursing when working in resident care areas

• Assist with terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon transfer, discharge, or death

• Follow established maintenance schedules and supervisor instructions

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks

• Maintain grounds, parking areas, and driveways by cutting, trimming, sweeping, and general upkeep

• Replace burned-out light bulbs, including exit and overhead lighting

• Support the Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment

• Perform unscheduled or emergency maintenance tasks as directed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, environmental services, or related field preferred

• Familiarity with maintenance tools, cleaning materials, and equipment

• Ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance needs

• Strong organizational and time management skills
