Overview
The Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance planning and scheduling across all UK manufacturing sites. The role ensures that preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities are effectively planned and executed to maximize equipment reliability, technical availability, and production continuity.
This position also drives KPI performance, continuous improvement, digitalization, and process standardization, while serving as the primary link between UK Operations and the Global Business Services (GBS) hub. The role includes mentoring and developing the maintenance scheduling team to strengthen long-term planning capabilities.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain maintenance master plans for all UK sites (preventive, predictive, and corrective).

Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support operational needs.

Monitor and analyze key KPIs such as schedule adherence, PM completion, backlog, and maintenance efficiency, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.

Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to UK site stakeholders.

Ensure maintenance plans are aligned with production priorities, resource availability, and safety standards.

Support improvements in systems, process standardization, automation, and digital transformation within maintenance planning.

Resolve planning-related issues to ensure smooth and effective execution of maintenance strategies.

Lead simplification and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and planning accuracy.

Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with safety, quality, and technical requirements.

Act as the communication bridge between UK Operations and the GBS hub, ensuring aligned expectations and consistent ways of working.

Mentor and develop the maintenance scheduling team, building technical and analytical capabilities.
Qualifications

Fluency in English (written and spoken) — C1 level.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

4+ years of experience working in a maintenance department within an FMCG plant (preferred).

Working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred).

Ability to manage conflicting priorities with strong problem-solving skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.

Demonstrated experience with MS Excel and analytics tools.
