Maintenance Engineer

We're seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to ensure our hotel is always running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of the hotel’s physical property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role ensures that all systems—including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances—are operating safely and efficiently in accordance with IHG standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Complete work orders and repairs promptly and professionally
• Respond to guest room maintenance requests with urgency and courtesy
• Maintain the exterior and interior appearance of the hotel (e.g., landscaping, painting, signage)
• Ensure compliance with safety and fire codes
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records
• Monitor inventory of tools and supplies and report reordering needs
• Support hotel operations during emergencies (power outages, water issues, etc.)
• Collaborate with housekeeping and front desk staff to ensure room readiness

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in general maintenance or facility repair (hotel experience preferred)
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems efficiently
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Available for emergency situations
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
