The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining equipment in basic condition and extending its lifetime through adequate and cost-effective (preventive/condition-based) maintenance. He/she is responsible for identifying and eliminating losses/waste, reducing Equipment Breakdowns, reducing unplanned and eventually planned downtime, eventually reducing maintenance cost and improving OEE across Operations through leveraging the KWS methodologies, while maintaining the highest standards in Safety and Quality & Food Safety. He/she ensures that the Maintenance Plan for Operations is continuously updated and executed.
The incumbent is expected to carry-out any lawful duties assigned. This position is based in the factory and might not be legible to Locate for Your Day benefits. Limited travel could be required.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
Manufacturing and Operational Efficiency

Owns the overall OEE improvement (Breakdown Elimination, Unplanned/Planned Losses) and loss elimination journey for the Maintenance area, in close collaboration with Operations. He/she owns the Maintenance plan, ensures this is continuously updated and timely/efficiently executed (this includes planning, preparation, staging, installing/assembling and testing). He/she analyses shift/weekly/monthly trends and develops & drives relevant action plans to improve.

He/she leverages the full KWS toolbox in the journey to eliminate losses in the Maintenance and wider Operations area. The KWS tools help him/her in diagnosing malfunctioning systems, identifying root cause and executing relevant short- and long term improvements.

Throughout the Reliability Maintenance journey, Maintenance Engineer actively works to reduce Unplanned Downtime, initially through replacing with Planned Downtime so adequate (preventive/condition-based) maintenance can be executed, afterwards reducing the Planned Downtime whilst further improving OEE and reducing maintenance costs/spare parts inventory.

As Maintenance Engineer he/she ensures the long range capital plan is reflecting adequate ‘Repair & Replace’ interventions and minimizes obsolescence across the facility.

He/she owns the equipment asset list and drawings for the facility and ensures this is up to date through regular audits/counts.

Managing the maintenance team and providing the necessary direction and administration.
People

Fosters proactive, clear, consistent and transparent communication across Operations and the rest of the plant Daily Direction Setting meetings, Toolbox talks, Shift team meetings and Shift Take Overs.

Actively drives capability building for the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance area (esp. shift fitters) and Operations, linked to loss elimination and Management of Change.
Kellanova Work Systems (KWS)

Actively participates in one or more KWS Centre of Excellence teams and owns one of the critical Daily Management Systems (DMS).

Ensures follow up of all critical Maintenance DMSs and actively drives implementation of Reliability Maintenance

Actively enforces SAP as the single source of truth (including but not limited to spares, work orders, purchase requisitions, …).

Actively drives benchmarking across other Kellanova facilities to capture learnings and foster reapplication.
Your Recipe for Success

Degree in the Engineering
-
2-4 years working experience in a supervisory level and proven exposure of managing people in a manufacturing plant.

Computer literacy including good command on Microsoft Office Suite
