Maintenance Engineer- Pharma

To ensure reliable, safe, and compliant operation of all mechanical equipment used in Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing by performing preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance in accordance with GMP, AYUSH, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Plant & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment including:
  • Pulverizers, grinders, disintegrators
  • Ribbon blenders, mass mixers, octagonal blenders
  • Tablet compression machines, coating pans
  • Capsule filling machines
  • Liquid syrup manufacturing vessels, reactors, storage tanks
  • Conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, valves, pipelines
  • Ensure minimum downtime through effective breakdown analysis and quick response.

2. Utility & Facility Maintenance

  • Maintain utilities such as:
  • Boilers, steam lines, and heat exchangers
  • Air compressors and compressed air systems
  • HVAC systems for production and storage areas
  • Water systems (RO, softener, hot water, chilled water)
  • Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to production areas.

3. GMP & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with:
  • GMP / Schedule T / AYUSH guidelines
  • Safety and hygiene requirements for herbal pharma manufacturing
  • Maintain proper documentation including:
  • Equipment maintenance logs
  • Breakdown records
  • Calibration coordination with QA
  • Change control documentation

4. Safety & EHS

  • Follow plant safety procedures during maintenance work.
  • Ensure safe operation of machines and utilities.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Promote use of PPE and safe work practices.

5. Spare Parts & Vendor Management

  • Identify critical spares and maintain inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repair, AMC, and installation activities.
  • Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for energy conservation and efficiency improvement.
  • Suggest modifications to improve machine performance and reliability.
  • Support TPM, 5S, and preventive maintenance programs.

QualificationsEducation

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • 2–6 years of experience in pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, herbal, or food manufacturing industry
  • Hands-on experience with pharma processing and utility equipment preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
