Maintenance Fitter

A Fitting Quality Control (QC) Inspector ensures manufactured parts, assemblies, and mechanical components meet precise engineering blueprints and quality standards. They are responsible for inspecting raw materials, measuring finished parts with precision instruments, and approving or rejecting components to ensure adherence to safety, functionality, and tolerance standards.   • Dimensional Inspection: Using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Process Monitoring: Overseeing fitting, assembly, and welding processes to ensure compliance.
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed inspection records, test reports, andNon-Conformance Reports (NCR).
  • Defect Detection: Identifying, marking, and reporting defective parts, and determining necessary repairs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in mechanical fitting, assembly, and fabrication.
  • Tool Knowledge: Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial gauges).
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in examining components.
  • Education: Typically requires a High School Diploma, ITI, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Communication: Ability to report findings clearly and work with production teams
