Maintenance / Houseman

Job Overview
Maintenance / Houseman is an entry level position responsible for the upkeep of all exterior and interior areas of the porperty daily and repairinghotel equiptment as assigned by Supervisors and Managers. They will help maintain the appearence and functionality of the Best Western Big America and will uphold The Best Western's Mission and Values.

Duties

• Onsite work only
• Inspects hotel grounds and takes action daily for cleanliness, general repair issues and trash pickup
• Maintains the exterior of the hotel property
• Responds to facility maintenance requests from guests and staff through in-house ticket management programs, updating with notes and addressing issues in a timely manner.
• Cleans and maintains pool and hot tub daily.
• Repairs minor guest room issues, either through the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program or via guest/management request.
• Completes basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs as needde
• Painting as requested by Management.
• Operates power tolls such as drills, saws, and sanders safely and as directed.
• Complies fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming and personal hygiene.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with guests, management and co-workers.
• Attends and reports on time for all meetings and training sessions scheduled by management
• Recognizes and reacts to potential safety hazards and security problems in hotel and acts accordingly as directed by Company policies, OSHA guidelines and any local/state ordinances and/or laws.
• Assists Housekeeping and houseman with dailyduties as needed.
• Completes all other tasks as assigned by manager.

Education, Experience, Skills

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years hotel, lodging or resort maintanence experience preffered
• Working knowledge of basic maintanence (plumbing, electrical, HVAC etc)
• Good comand of the English Language
• Ability to work with people effectively
• Ability to multitask and work mentally demanding situations
• Ability to self-monitor tasks given throughout the day
• Must be able to communicate and work effectiely with co-workers in all departments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand continuously for the duration of the shift
• Ability to lift heavy equipment
• Ability to stretch, bend, kneel and reach frequently during shift
• Ability to work in stressful situations

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
