Job Description
A. Maintenance & Operations
- Implement and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for:
- Electrical systems
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing & water supply
- Medical gas pipeline system (MGPS)
- Lifts & elevators
- Fire safety system
- Boilers, generators, UPS, and other utilities
- Ensure Breakdown Maintenance is carried out promptly with minimal downtime.
- Maintain asset registers and Equipment Maintenance Logs as required by NABH.
- Ensure calibration, testing, and servicing of biomedical and non-biomedical equipment as per schedule (coordinate with Biomedical Engineering Dept).
B. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Electrical safety norms
- Fire safety regulations
- Biomedical waste rules
- Statutory and regulatory requirements (Pollution Control Board, Electrical Inspectorate, Lift Inspector, etc.)
- Conduct and document environmental safety rounds as per NABH.
- Ensure functioning of:
- Fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms
- Emergency exits and signage
- Emergency power supply systems
- Monitor water quality, STP/ETP functioning, and oversee pest control as per facility safety standards.
C. Documentation & NABH Compliance
- Prepare, update, and maintain:
- PM schedules
- Breakdown records
- Equipment inventory
- AMC/CMC records
- Utility consumption logs (electricity, water, diesel)
- Ensure compliance with NABH chapters:
- Facility Management & Safety (FMS)
- Hospital Infection Control (HIC) (engineering support)
- Human Resource Management (training on safety equipment)
- Participate in internal audits and assist during NABH assessments.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance activities.
D. Team Management
- Supervise and guide technicians, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other staff.
- Train maintenance staff in:
- Fire safety
- MGPS safety
- Occupational health & safety
- Use of PPE and emergency response
- Ensure shift duties and 24×7 engineering support.
E. Vendor, AMC, and Inventory Management
- Maintain and monitor AMC/CMC contracts for all critical equipment.
- Coordinate with external agencies for:
- Lift maintenance
- Generator/UPS service
- Fire safety system service
- Water treatment plant, etc.
- Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Raise purchase requests and verify vendor service reports.
F. Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure readiness of utilities during:
- Code Red (Fire)
- Code Black (Disaster)
- Power failure
- Medical gas emergencies
- Participate in mock drills and take corrective actions on observations.
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Facility Management
- Minimum 10 years experience in hospital maintenance (preferred)
- Knowledge of MGPS, HVAC, BMS, fire systems, and biomedical equipment basics
- Training in NABH standards or hospital quality management is an advantage

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
