Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of all rides, attractions, buildings and facility equipment within the SGP Family Entertainment Center. This includes roller coaster, drop tower, teacup ride, go karts, bumper cars, blaster boats, arcade games, and general facility systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring guest safety, ride reliability, asset sustainability and overall park cleanliness and presentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ride & Attraction Maintenance

Facilitate and perform daily inspections of all rides and attractions and record keeping prior to opening each ride or attraction to park guests. Daily inspections include ride control systems, restraints, braking systems, and safety components.

Conduct preventative maintenance in season and off season, in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines for all rides and attractions.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all rides and attractions.

In accordance with State of Massachusetts licensing and certification and insurance company requirement, maintain ride logs and complete all required documentation.

In cooperation with AGM develop effective SOPs, procedures and policies to improve safety standards and maintenance operations.

Respond quickly to ride downtime and operational issues.

Facilitate seasonal ride setup and teardown.

Maintain a clean and organized shop and parts storage area.
Go Kart & Vehicle Maintenance
Inspect and maintain kart engines (gas or electric), drivetrains, brakes, steering, and tires in accordance with manufacturer standards.

Perform routine oil changes, tune-ups, battery checks, and general repairs.

Maintain track barriers and safety systems.

Maintain a clean and organized shop and parts storage area.
Facility & Building Maintenance

Repair lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical systems.

Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).

Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.).

Maintain water systems for blaster boats and other water attractions.

Ensure facility meets all safety codes and cleanliness standards.

Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.

Assist with state ride inspections and safety audits.

Maintain organized tools, parts inventory, and maintenance shop.

Immediately report any safety hazards or concerns.
Qualifications Required:
-
2- 5 years of mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience.

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Strong troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical repair. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals. Reasoning Ability meaning able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and implement a course of action based on variables both abstract and concrete. Ability to manage a departmental budget and staff.
Preferred:
Skill set of working on amusement rides, go karts, or similar attractions. Small engine repair experience. Electrical certification or vocational training. Welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Skills & Competencies. Strong attention to detail. Problem-solving mindset. Acknowledges the job requires exposure to loud noises and moving mechanical parts. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Commitment to safety and guest experience. Comfortable working both indoor and outdoor work environment, variable weather conditions, climbing ladders, working at heights, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures/instructions. Proficiency in English language is required to effectively communicate with guests/associates. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and other documents, as needed. Can effectively present information and respond to questions from associates and guests at all levels. Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
