Maintenance Materials Coordinator

TAMKO is seeking a Maintenance Materials Coordinator at our Columbus facility to support maintenance operations through effective inventory management, purchasing coordination, and storeroom organization. This position plays a critical role in the execution of TAMKO’s Maintenance Reliability Program by ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are readily available to support the safe and efficient maintenance of production equipment.

  • Promote TAMKO’s concept of teamwork among all personnel
  • Stock and maintain warehouse inventory, including receiving and storing incoming parts and materials within 24 hours of delivery
  • Assist maintenance personnel in locating parts, tools, and equipment as needed
  • Issue and restock items to and from Work Orders in SAP
  • Perform regular cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Conduct a full physical inventory of storeroom items twice annually (first 9 months and final quarter)
  • Maintain the storeroom and kitting areas to exceptional cleanliness and organizational standards
  • Kit planned maintenance jobs and deliver kits in accordance with TAMKO's Planning, Scheduling, and Kitting process
  • Prepare outbound shipments and load/unload trucks as required
  • Maintain and order safety supplies and Kanban vending systems
  • Oversee the free issue area and coordinate with service vendors to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Maintain and control the special tool inventory, including tracking repairs, replacements, and consumables (e.g., bits, blades)
  • Ensure proper security of the tool room and implement improvements to its organization and accountability
  • Generate purchase requests for inventory items and assist with BOM (Bill of Materials) maintenance and development
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for the storeroom and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Implement and maintain proper storage methods to maximize equipment reliability
  • Assist in process improvements related to storeroom equipment, systems, and procedures
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial boom lifts, and other mobile equipment
  • Provide support to production lines and laboratory operations as needed, including shipping
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to TAMKO’s Management of Change (MOC) program


Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dust and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
