Description:
Performs a variety of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and related trades, and crafts work in maintaining and repairing buildings, structures, and related fixtures, equipment, and mold remediation and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Carpentry:
- Checks and corrects minor deficiencies in exterior, interior, roofs, buildings, and structures. Performs repairs that requires accurate fitting, structural soundness, and neat appearance. Repairs/adjusts a variety of items such as doors, assuring the proper plumb, opening and closing, door hinges, latches, handles, bolts, strikers, keepers, closures, and other hardware; windowpanes, sashes, frames, tracks, and runners; wood and tile floors; cracked, broken, missing, or leaking roofs and interior walls, partitions, decorative trim, display cases, and bulletin boards. Repairs damaged or leaking gutters and downspouts but does not fabricate gutters and downspouts. Utilizes hand tools of the trade and such shop tools as power saws, planes, miter saws, and routers. Mold remediation and documentation. Replace existing Wall Insulation.

Plumbing:
- Inspects steam, hot and cold-water fixtures, fittings, and pipes for visible defective parts, connections, or malfunctions. Can valve out to isolate any steam and steam condensate, potable, industrial, chill and hot water leaks, unstops clogged sink drains, floor drains, urinals and toilets. Replaces toilet seats. Performs inspections to eyewash and emergency shower pull stations. Identifies and tags interior hot, cold, potable water valves, chill and heating hydronic loop valves and steam and condensate valves with valve names and identification numbers. Can repair and replace damaged or missing Armaflex insulation for interior potable water pipes, chill and hot water hydronic pipes, peripheral pump.
- Painting:
- Paints all new lumber or sheet rock items installed in making repairs. Assures paint match existing colors as close as possible. Broken vinyl composite tile (VCT) replacement, cove base replacement.

Accountable For:

The proper use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance mechanic field.

Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

Ability to understand and interpret written and oral instructions.

Basic knowledge of each craft trade which performs the individual functions for building operations, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities. These include limited plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.

Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.

Dealing with a variety of people in a professional courteous matter in diversified situations.

Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.

Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must have five (5) years of experience in multi-crafts which include light plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.

Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

Must be willing to work any shift.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to safely use the tools of the trade to perform work of the classifications.

Must be able to receive a security clearance for access to material up to and including SECRET and/or pass a National Agency Check.
