Compliance & Day-to-Day Operations
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery to manufacturer’s specification
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and machinery
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain effective communication with project team regarding equipment repairs
- Perform lock out / tag out procedures as needed
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area
- Willingness to travel to construction sites (may require frequent site visits)
- Other duties as assigned
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Implement efficient maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity
Financial Management & Risk Assessment
- Estimate and manage repair costs and budgets
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and liabilities
Culture & Talent Development
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to share knowledge and best practices
- Mentor and train junior mechanics and technicians
- Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful attitude in all interactions to foster a productive and collaborative work environment
Technology & Innovation
- Stay up to date with new technologies and equipment advancements
- Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and software
Monitoring & Review
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs (to monitor and review equipment history and maintenance needs)
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance needs
External Relations & Representation
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to procure parts and equipment
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 3+ experience as a mechanic in the construction industry working with heavy equipment.
- OSHA 10 is required
- Post-secondary training in heavy equipment mechanics, diesel mechanics, or a related field (certificate, diploma, or degree preferred but not required)
- Deep knowledge and expertise of cranes and heavy equipment
- Some knowledge and experience with marine engines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
