Maintenance Mechanic

JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of this job is to maintain all internal/external structural & mechanical integrity of all Hospital/Nursing Home properties and equipment.

EDUCATION: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: None.

EXPERIENCE: Possess 2-year level of experience in commercial, institutional or industrial plant maintenance. Demonstrates mechanical and electrical ability.

PREFERRED: Possess 3-year level of experience in healthcare plant maintenance, with an understanding of carpentry, mechanical, plumbing and electrical methods and techniques.

ABILITIES: Ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to operate and understand power tools, job specific computer operations, electrical meters, electrical switches and circuit panels. Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Ability to perform basic computational skills in order to troubleshoot and estimate material requirements.

KNOWLEDGE: Basic fundamentals of mechanical equipment; including: pumps, fans, boilers, HVAC equipment to appropriate to the needs of the facility.
