Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift (02:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

The ideal candidate should be a multi-skilled technician with expertise in electrical, mechanical, electrical controls, pneumatics and fabrication. Installs, repairs and maintains machinery equipment, physical structures, electrical, process and utility systems by performing maintenance support duties, both planned and unplanned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as VFD’s, Motors, and Transformers etc.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment.

Diagnose problems with equipment and ability to repair or make recommendations to Management on correction problem.

Perform all maintenance on packaging, production equipment, forklifts and other equipment.

Responsible to weld ARC/TIG.

Run Conduit, Black Pipe, PVC and Copper Pipe.

Work on Boilers and Pressure washers.

Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities of plant equipment

Work in conjunction with Operations Staff on daily operational related issues

Identify creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems.

Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational machine and resources efficiencies whilst considering the impact on other departments.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mechanical/technical/interpersonal – Skills can be applied immediately to job duties; a specialist in the details of a work function

Ability to work well with limited supervision.

Ability to work well in hot/cold temperatures,

Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Must be able to read, speak, write and communicate effectively at the work location.

Must have excellent attention to detail.

Must be able to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary to safely operate the equipment.

Knowledge of Ovens, Fryers, Conveyors, and combustion systems.

Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems and components.

Knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley)

Knowledge of Computers and Computer programs such as; Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook etc.

Team player work well with others.

Ability to communicate with production.

Ability to read and understand Machine/Equipment Manuals, Diagnostic Charts and Diagrams.

Must be available to work some weekend if needed.

Must be able to be On Call when needed.

Must provide own hand tools.

Must maintain a clean work environment.

Maintenance in the food and beverage industry a plus.

Knowledge or experience preferably in welding for repairs and maintains metal structures, production machinery, and other equipment if needed.

Ability to understand and fill out Work Orders and PM’s.

Knowledge of pumps (Centrifugal, Diaphragm and Positive Displacement).

Knowledge of sanitary pipes, fittings and valves.

Knowledge of packaging and tape machines.
