Performs semi-skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support the proper operation of buildings, utilities, equipment, grounds, and facilities.
20% Monitors, maintains and performs building maintenance repairs involving mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting projects
20% Special event set-ups for students and staff
20% Performs preventive maintenance and repairs to landscape irrigation systems campus-wide
20% Respond to requests and complaints from the work order system or emergency calls
10% Keeps assigned tools and/or equipment in clean and safe working condition
10% Performs other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED, and one (1) year of building maintenance experience or directly related experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.
A. OSHA 30 Certification
B. Experience with commercial building maintenance
C. Experience with lighting and electrical maintenance
D. Experience with landscaping, irrigation repair and maintenance
E. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and/or a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate’s own expense
Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
May require numerous evenings or weekends
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at heights.
