Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to lead, coordinate, and optimize the maintenance planning and scheduling function for UK manufacturing sites, ensuring that all maintenance activities are effectively planned, prioritized, and executed to maximize equipment reliability, technical availability, and production continuity.
The role holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance master plan for each site, covering preventive, predictive, and corrective activities. This includes identifying required resources, defining schedules, and balancing workloads across teams to minimize downtime while upholding safety, quality, and compliance standards.
In addition, the role will support performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that KPIs such as schedule adherence, PM compliance, and maintenance efficiency are tracked, analyzed, and improved over time. The position also plays a key role in system development, process standardization, and digitalization efforts within the maintenance planning function.
The role holder will act as a central coordination point between the UK site teams, business unit stakeholders, and the Global Business Services (GBS) hub — ensuring seamless communication, aligned priorities, and consistent service delivery. Furthermore, the position includes mentoring and developing the team of maintenance schedulers, building technical and planning capabilities to support long-term organizational goals.
Ultimately, this role contributes to the sustainability and optimization of asset care strategies, driving simplification, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all UK operations
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain maintenance masterplans for all UK sites, covering preventive, predictive, and corrective activities to ensure optimal asset performance and minimum unplanned downtime.

Monitor key maintenance KPIs such as schedule compliance, PM completion rate, and maintenance backlog to assess team performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Prepare and share regular performance reports with UK site stakeholders, highlighting key trends, risks, and improvement actions.

Coordinate closely with site maintenance, reliability, and operations teams to ensure maintenance plans are aligned with production priorities and resource availability.

Support system improvements and standardization across the planning and scheduling processes, contributing to automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Support the resolution of planning-related issues, ensuring smooth execution of maintenance strategies and alignment with reliability and operations teams

Analyze KPI trends and provide performance insights and recommendations to stakeholders to enhance maintenance efficiency and reliability.

Lead simplification and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce administrative workload, and improve the quality and accuracy of planning outputs.

Ensure all planning activities comply with safety, quality, and technical standards, and that maintenance activities are executed safely and effectively.

Act as the key communication bridge between the UK operations and the GBS hub, ensuring consistent ways of working, aligned expectations, and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications

Fluency in English (written and spoken C1)

Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

3 years experience working in maintenance department of a FMCG plant (preferably)

Working knowledge of CMMS (SAP preferably)

Ability to handle conflicting priorities and active problem solving skills

Exceptional written and oral communication, adapting approach by situation and audience

Demonstrated experience with MS Excel & Analytics tools
