Maintenance / stocker / grounds keeper in Garden Center

Overview
Seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance and repair work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and landscape or gardening knowledge and experience, and the ability to troubleshoot various systems such as sprinkler systems, weed eaters etc. This position requires a person willing to work outdoors in all weather. shovels, rakes and pruners are your friend. You must also be willing to assist customers in an efficient, professional, and pleasant manner.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, ensuring all systems operate efficiently.
• Utilize programmable systems ie: sprinkler systems.
• Conduct welding tasks as needed for structural or equipment repairs.
• Apply electrical experience to diagnose and resolve electrical issues within the facility.
• Maintain Garden Center grounds: weeding, stocking, pruning, irrigation repairs ( above and below ground), planting, pond care and all that a retail garden center or landscape business would entail.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in facilities maintenance.
• Familiarity with programmable sprinkler controllers is preferred.
• Welding skills are a plus for performing necessary repairs.
• Strong electrical experience to handle various electrical systems safely..
• Previous supervising experience is an asset, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with staff and clients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
