Position Summary
The Engineering Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and technical operations within the restaurant to ensure a safe, efficient, and fully functional environment. This role ensures that all equipment, facilities, and utilities are properly maintained, while supporting smooth restaurant operations through preventive maintenance, quick troubleshooting, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance & Repair
- Supervise and perform maintenance activities on kitchen equipment (walk-in chillers, freezers, ovens, fryers, grills, dishwashers, exhaust systems, etc.).
- Ensure regular maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repair work to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Oversee contractors and service providers for specialized repairs or installations.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
- Monitor the condition of machinery and infrastructure, identifying potential issues early.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
3. Facility Management
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of all facility areas (FOH & BOH).
- Manage maintenance of lighting, signage, structural repairs, flooring, and general property upkeep.
- Oversee waste management systems, including grease traps, drainage, and exhaust systems.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain emergency systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers).
- Train staff on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with municipality regulations, HACCP, and restaurant-specific guidelines.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise a small team of technicians or maintenance helpers (if applicable).
- Assign work orders, prioritize urgent tasks, and monitor completion.
- Collaborate closely with restaurant managers, chefs, and operations teams to support daily operations.
- Assist in planning maintenance budgets and proposing improvement projects.
6. Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor inventory of tools, spare parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure appropriate stock levels to minimize operational delays.
- Liaise with suppliers for purchase orders and service contracts.
