Maintenance Supervisor – Ivy & Elm (Student Housing, Oxford, MS)
Salary: $66,000–$70,000
It’s the middle of move-in week.
Parents are helping carry boxes. Residents are arriving back after summer. There’s energy, noise — and a long list of things that need to go right.
A work order comes in. Then another. Then a call.
In that moment, the difference between chaos and control is clear.
It comes down to who’s leading maintenance.
We’re hiring a
Maintenance Supervisor
at Ivy & Elm — someone who can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a fast-moving student housing environment.
What This Role Really Is
This isn’t just overseeing work orders.
This role is about
leading the operation behind the scenes
— making sure the community runs smoothly, the team performs at a high level, and residents feel taken care of.
It sits at the intersection of:
-
Leadership
-
Operations
-
Customer service
-
Preventative maintenance
You’re not just fixing problems — you’re setting the standard for how maintenance operates.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
-
Leading and supporting the maintenance team day-to-day
-
Managing service requests and ensuring timely, quality completion
-
Overseeing preventative maintenance programs
-
Coordinating turns and preparing units for move-in readiness
-
Troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues
-
Maintaining the overall condition and appearance of the property
-
Supporting vendor coordination and project work as needed
-
Ensuring safety standards and compliance are consistently met
What We’re Looking For
The right person for this role:
-
Leads by example and holds a high standard for the team
-
Takes pride in quality work — and expects the same from others
-
Is organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities
-
Communicates clearly with residents, vendors, and team members
-
Stays calm under pressure, especially during peak times (like turns and move-ins)
-
Anticipates issues and addresses them before they escalate
-
Understands the pace and expectations of student housing
What This Role Is NOT
-
Not just a hands-on technician role
-
Not reactive, last-minute problem solving
-
Not a “keep up with work orders” position
Anyone can keep things running.
We’re looking for someone who can
lead a team, create structure, and elevate how maintenance operates
— especially during the moments that matter most.
Why Ivy & Elm
This role directly impacts:
-
The success of turns and move-ins
-
Resident satisfaction and retention
-
The performance and culture of the maintenance team
Student housing moves fast — and this is an opportunity to lead in an environment where your impact is visible every day.
