Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all kitchen equipment and building maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. This role includes supervising technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigeration units, exhaust systems, and dishwashers.
- Schedule and supervise routine servicing, calibration, and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs, and minimize downtime during operations.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and liaise with vendors for repairs or replacements.
Building Maintenance
- Supervise general building upkeep including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and structural repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards, damages, or areas needing improvement.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with building codes, fire safety, and local regulations.
- Plan and oversee renovations, upgrades, and facility improvements.
Team & Administrative Duties
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for kitchen and building systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and equipment service logs.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Train staff on equipment handling, emergency procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, preferably in hospitality, food service, or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Flexible to work on-call, evenings, weekends, or during emergencies.
