• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record
• Ability to read and write and follow oral or written instructions.
• Employer prefers to train on the job

Job Summary

The maintenance technician is responsible for cleaning and basic repairs of buildings, equipment or tools. The technician monitors equipment daily, performs basic cleaning, resets equipment for the next day and complete repairs for continued production.

Duties

• Performs a variety of duties in and around buildings and grounds of the hospital complex to assist Engineers in completing their tasks
• May be rotating helper wherever needed, assigned to a specific activity
• Assists workmen at work site by transporting materials and tools by hand, dolly or by truck and by performing routine tasks as directed by immediate supervisor. With experience, performs progressively more complex tasks
• Makes simple repairs in patient rooms under direct supervision
• Cleans, lubricates, and stores maintenance tools and equipment
• Performs P.M.s on A/C units in patient rooms and also doctor offices calls and P.M.s
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements

Work is medium: Lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls tolls and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally balancing and climbing when working on equipment or ladders. Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches and crawls in performance of assigned duties, works both inside and outside.
