JOB SUMMARY: The Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of S&S Cycle facilities and surrounding grounds. This role supports daily operations by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of buildings, utilities, equipment, and exterior areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional working environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including doors, windows, walls, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and basic electrical components.
Maintain exterior grounds, including landscaping, lawn care, snow and ice removal, walkways, parking lots, and drainage systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections of facilities and identify repair needs or safety concerns.
Respond to work orders and facility-related service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with minor construction, remodeling, and space reconfiguration projects as needed.
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services.
Support facility safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in a clean and organized condition.
Assist with equipment moves, setup, and general plant support activities.
Document completed work and communicate issues or recommendations to management.
Perform other duties as assigned to support facility and operational needs.
Assist Maintenance Manager in establishing and modifying preventative maintenance tasks
Confer daily or when necessary on the status of any equipment, and/or building maintenance
Assist others in the Maintenance department as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced working as a maintenance technician or equivalent
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related trade preferred.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and ability to maintain valid licensure and insurance as required by state law.
Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, and general building systems.

Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Will be required to perform job duties in a manufacturing production environment on occasion
While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic
The noise level is moderate, and some production areas may require hearing protection in accordance with OSHA requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms above shoulders, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety and PPE standards, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toed shoes
