We are currently looking for Maintenance Technicians to join our Maintenance team. The pay rate for this role depends on experience, but usually anywhere from $26-$30/hour, plus a $1 shift differential for working on night shift.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing a variety of activities designed to install, troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain stationary, plant, and mobile equipment.
Essential Job Duties

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities using mechanical, electrical, welding, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills. Must be familiar with machinery/equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.

Perform all aspects of maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, skid steers, high-pressure air compressors, bulldozers, graders, cranes, man lifts, loaders, haul trucks, snowplows, trailers, and other equipment.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust production equipment or pieces of heavy equipment, such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and troubleshoot malfunctions in the equipment and repair malfunctions.

Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc.

Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments of fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; change filters and oil, and lubricate mobile and stationary equipment.

Disassemble units, repair or replace parts and reassemble units as needed.

Must have the ability to fabricate, modify, and install special equipment or replacement parts using welders, torch sets, etc.

Thoroughly complete work orders documenting repair work on equipment.

Able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detect faulty operations and defective material and reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Maintain updated maintenance logs for company-owned equipment.

Thoroughly complete pre and post-inspections on equipment.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Comply with facility-wide environmental and quality management systems.

Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.

Prior experience in electrical, welding, diesel, or heavy equipment repair, hydraulic service, or fabrication work, strongly desired.

Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of stationary and mobile equipment.

Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in the repair of stationary and mobile equipment.

Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools.

Must be able to read, use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with some supervision.

Good judgment is required.

Must be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have high safety standards for self and others.

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.

Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

MSHA training and experience are also preferred.
